CALQ updated the grant-recipient guidance and the Acquisition and marketing page with new conditions tied to funding use and reporting. The materials now say CALQ may request reimbursement if the grant ends up exceeding the 50% cap after final project costs are known, and the grant use report must be submitted and approved within three months after project completion. The eligible-expense list also now excludes software subscriptions, whether annual or monthly, and the application instructions were lightly revised, including the note about letters of recommendation.

- Professional visual artists.
- Inuit artists and First Nations artists residing in Quebec.
- Writers, storytellers, architects, and craft artists are included in the program’s artist definition.

- Groups legally constituted as non-profit or for-profit companies or partnerships.
- Projects carried out under an educational program.
- Projects already rejected by CALQ.
- Incomplete applications.

- The purchase and upgrading of tools and equipment related to the production of artworks.

- The purchase and installation of health and safety related equipment (ventilation, dust extractor, etc.)
- The design and realization of promotional and marketing tools (publications and promotional pamphlets, websites, professional photography services, etc.)

Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Candidate's remuneration.
- Research and creation activities; training and professional development activities.
- The purchase of basic materials and supplies; software subscriptions; property expenses; travel within Québec and outside Québec.
- Monographs and catalogues written by an art critic or curator; artists’ residencies; expenses related to participation in an event; portfolios.
- Salaries other than professional honoraria paid to a supplier of goods or services; expenses related to the mounting of an exhibition.

- Step 2: Complete the online forms

- Complete the project details form and the personal information form.
- Step 3: Submit the application
- Submit online through Mon dossier CALQ.
- If the online method is unavailable for this program, send the file by WeTransfer following the form instructions.
- Mail submissions are not accepted.
- Step 4: Receive confirmation and follow-up
- Receive an email acknowledgement of receipt.
- Applicants registered in Mon dossier CALQ can track the file online.
Processing and Agreement
- The CALQ informs the applicant of its decision approximately four months after the application deadline.
- An applicant registered for Mon Dossier CALQ will receive an email inviting them to consult the online file to find out the result.
- If the application is successful, the applicant receives a document describing the terms and conditions governing the use of the grant.
- After receiving the results, the applicant may request the jury's or the evaluator's general rankings of the project for each evaluation criterion, and decisions are final and without appeal.
- The grant recipient must submit a detailed report on the use of the grant within three months after the end of the project, and the report must be approved by the CALQ.
