The Business Lighting Program page now says the first intake phase of the Manitoba Schools Lighting Initiative is closed. Schools are still invited to submit an Expression of Interest, which will be reviewed for a future selection period. The Customer Bonus and Supplier Bonus wording was updated slightly, but the visible amounts and deadline remain $100 for the Supplier Bonus and March 31, 2027 for both bonuses; the supplier bonus still applies to applications completed on behalf of the customer.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare application
    • Determine lighting requirements.
    • Gather owner, site, and lighting system details.
    • Log into myEM to start the application.
  • Step 2: Submit application
    • Complete and submit the online application.
    • Applications may be submitted by the building owner or by a supplier on the owner’s behalf.
  • Step 3: Wait for approval
    • Efficiency Manitoba reviews the application.
    • Receive approval by email before starting work.
  • Step 4: Complete project and submit documents
    • Purchase and install the lighting after approval.
    • Submit completion documents in myEM.
  • Step 5: Receive incentive
    • Efficiency Manitoba reviews completion documents.
    • The incentive is then issued to the indicated payee.

Processing and Agreement

  • Application is reviewed by Efficiency Manitoba after submission.
  • Approval is sent by email before work can begin.
  • After installation, completion documents are reviewed.
  • Incentive payment is issued after completion documents are verified.
  • The Manitoba Schools Lighting Initiative will review and evaluate Expressions of Interest during a future selection period.
