  • Cost of hiring a bus for a visit to a Metro Vancouver Regional Park.

  • Mileage and other travel expenses.
  • Trips where the regional park is not the main destination.
  • Visits to Grouse Mountain Resort, Capilano Suspension Bridge, and Seymour River Fish & Hatchery Education Centre.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are currently prioritized for volunteer groups, community centres, youth organizations, seniors’ groups, and organizations supporting people with disabilities or other challenges.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare your trip details
    • Confirm the outing date.
    • Choose the regional park to visit.
    • Confirm the nature and size of the group.
    • Ensure the vehicle is insured and licensed with a professional driver.
  • Step 2: Submit the application
    • Complete the online application form.
    • Attach the supporting letter of interest describing the planned trip.
  • Step 3: Complete park notification, if needed
    • Submit Metro Vancouver Regional Parks’ Group Visit Notification Form before chartering the bus.
    • This is not required for booked field trips with Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.
  • Step 4: After approval
    • Return the Grant Acceptance Form within 60 days of approval.
    • Submit the Final Report Form within 30 days after completing the trip.

Processing and Agreement

  • The approval process typically takes 4-6 weeks.
  • Successful applicants receive a Grant Acceptance Form by email.
  • The Acceptance Form must be returned within 60 days of approval.
  • A Final Report Form must be submitted within 30 days after the trip.

Additional information

  • Applications are accepted in October and January.
  • Priority is currently given to volunteer groups, community centres, youth organizations, seniors’ groups, and organizations supporting people with disabilities or other challenges.
  • Bus grants require a minimum of 20 attendees.
  • Each organization is limited to two bus grants per fiscal year, subject to funding availability.
