• Other non-profit community groups or organizations

Who is not eligible

• Religious or sectarian organizations
• Political organizations
• Competitive sports teams or private clubs
• Contract fundraisers or lobbyists
• Organizations based or operating outside Alberta

Eligible expenses

• Infrastructure costs such as equipment, labour, and architectural plans
• Expenses directly tied to building the project infrastructure

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Salaries
• Administrative costs
• Unrelated expenses
• Programming-only projects without infrastructure
• Projects not open to the public or requiring a fee to access

Eligible geographic areas

• Alberta
• Edmonton
• Calgary
• Secondary cities in Alberta
• Rural communities in Alberta
• Indigenous communities in Alberta

• Applications are reviewed by an internal selection committee using an evaluation matrix.
• Selected applicants are contacted by phone and then receive a grant disbursement agreement.
• The agreement must be signed before funds are released.
• After funding is received, progress reports are required until the project is completed.

• Applications must include at least 3 letters of community support.
• Applications with blank responses in the form will not be considered.
• Projects on publicly funded school property may be eligible if they are open to the surrounding community.
• Successful applicants will be notified in early December and funds are disbursed before year-end.
