Overview

This funding provides up to $20,000 for a one-year capacity-building project. It supports non-profit agencies to strengthen youth violence prevention through staff development, collaboration among youth-serving organizations, and improved processes and systems that support equitable access to early prevention services.

Documents Needed

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a registered non-profit society, community service organization, co-op, or a social enterprise wholly owned by a non-profit and in good standing with the Registrar of Companies.
  • OR the applicant must be a registered charity in good standing with the Canada Revenue Agency.
  • OR the applicant must be a First Nations Band.
  • The proposed capacity-building initiative must strengthen the organization’s ability to address youth violence prevention.
  • The initiative must align with at least one Focus Area in the City of Vancouver Youth Safety and Violence Prevention Strategy and address identified priorities.

  • Organizations that are not registered as an eligible entity and do not have an eligible fiscal sponsor.

  • Clarity on how the project addresses identified priorities related to youth safety and violence prevention.

  • Applicants may work with a fiscal sponsor to meet the required registration status.
  • Capacity-building initiatives must align with at least one Focus Area in the City of Vancouver Youth Safety and Violence Prevention Strategy.
