Who is eligible?
- Property owners of eligible brownfield sites
- Applicants with written owner consent for Phase I, II, or IV
- Owners pursuing redevelopment, remediation, or interim use projects

- City-owned properties
- Properties owned by another municipality
- Properties owned by provincial or federal government
- Phase III applicants who are not the property owner
- Phase III projects that also receive Phase IV funding
Eligible expenses
- Environmental testing and site assessment costs
- Remediation and contamination management costs
- Exposure control and monitoring costs
- Costs for sustainable remediation or interim-use infrastructure
- Eligible Phase III remediation items such as consulting, lab fees, excavation, disposal, and backfill
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Costs for construction that would have been incurred without remediation
- Underground parking construction costs
- Costs for properties owned by the City, another municipality, or federal/provincial government
- Phase III grants for projects that also receive Phase IV funding
- Phase IV grants for projects that receive Phase III funding

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the City of Edmonton and may require additional information.
- Some Phase III applications in CRL areas are reviewed by the Executive Leadership Team.
- Preliminary approval requires a Grant Funding Agreement.
- Applicants may appeal certain panel decisions in writing within 14 days.
- Payments are made only after required reports, approvals, and tax confirmation are completed.

- A waiting list is managed on a first come, first served basis.
- Successful applicants must sign a Grant Funding Agreement.
