Selection criteria
- Support is given where brownfield remediation and redevelopment advances one or more municipal priorities, including environmental restoration, neighbourhood revitalization, municipal financial sustainability, incorporation of existing City infrastructure, and compact urban form.
- Grant approval is subject to budget availability.
How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare application
- Complete the grant application form.
- Gather the required supporting documents for the selected phase.
- Step 2: Submit to the City
- Send the completed application package to the City of Edmonton.
- Provide any additional information requested by the City.
- Step 3: City review
- The City reviews the application for eligibility and cost eligibility.
- A site inspection may be carried out.
- Step 4: Funding agreement and payment
- If approved, enter into a Grant Funding Agreement.
- Submit final reports and required proof before payment is issued.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the City of Edmonton and may require additional information.
- Some Phase III applications in CRL areas are reviewed by the Executive Leadership Team.
- Preliminary approval requires a Grant Funding Agreement.
- Applicants may appeal certain panel decisions in writing within 14 days.
- Payments are made only after required reports, approvals, and tax confirmation are completed.
