How to apply

  • Step 1: Pre-consultation
    • Speak with City staff to confirm eligibility and project scope.
  • Step 2: Prepare Application
    • Complete the required application form.
    • Attach supporting documents, including the required assessments and proposal details.
  • Step 3: Submit Application
    • Send the completed application to the City for review.
  • Step 4: City Review and Decision
    • Wait for staff review, Council consideration, and formal approval or rejection.
  • Step 5: Post-Approval Requirements
    • Follow the City’s instructions before starting work and submit final study or project proof as required.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by City staff for eligibility and completeness.
  • Staff prepares a recommendation report for City Council.
  • Council makes the approval or rejection decision.
  • If approved, a bylaw and, where required, a Brownfield Site Agreement are issued.
  • Applicants are notified in writing of the decision and next steps.
