Eligible expenses

  • Food, shelter, and utility-related basic living costs
  • Medication, prosthetics, wigs, turbans, and lymphedema care
  • Parking, child care, rehabilitation, and supportive care
  • Rent or mortgage payments

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors
  • Longer-term treatments such as Herceptin and bisphosphonates, except for metastatic breast cancer cases
  • Credit card payments, property taxes, condo fees, and restaurant receipts
  • Accommodation costs and medications not related to treatment

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission by the Advisory Committee.
  • Applicants are normally notified within three weeks of receipt.
  • The committee may approve all or part of an application, or deny it.
  • Documents are returned if financial assistance is not provided.
