Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Event organizers hosting festivals, events, or sporting events
  • Organizations planning tourism-driven events in Bracebridge
  • Public organizations, private businesses, non-profits, and charities

Who is not eligible

  • Agencies that are primarily funding bodies to other organizations

Eligible expenses

  • Event participation and pre- and post-event tourism activities
  • Minor equipment needed to host the event

How to apply

  • Step 1: Consultation
    • Consult with Economic Development staff.
  • Step 2: Application Form
    • Complete the Event Grant Application Form.
    • Attach the required event budget and supporting information.
  • Step 3: Staff Review and Council Consideration
    • Staff review the application based on the program criteria.
    • Recommendations are presented to Council through annual budget deliberations.
  • Step 4: Decision and Agreement
    • Receive the approval or decline notice from staff.
    • If approved, execute the Event Tourism Grant Agreement.
  • Step 5: Post-Approval Requirements
    • Complete the event evaluation after the event.
    • Carry out the media release or photo opportunity with the Mayor and event organizer.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by staff against program criteria.
  • Staff make recommendations to Council during annual budget deliberations.
  • Applicants are notified of approval or decline by staff.
  • An Event Tourism Grant Agreement must be executed if approved.
  • An event evaluation is completed after the event.

Additional information

  • The Town may require a media release or photo opportunity with the Mayor and the event organizer.
  • Applicants must certify that the information provided is complete and correct.
  • An authorized officer must submit the application on behalf of the organization.
