Overview of the Bourses à la relève Agri-Marché – Dairy sector program

The Bourses à la relève Agri-Marché – Dairy Sector grant offers financial awards of up to $20,000 to support young dairy producers in Quebec. The program aims to foster the next generation by funding projects that improve technical and financial efficiency, as well as business startups or acquisitions in the dairy sector.

  • Projects aimed at improving the technical and financial efficiency of dairy farming businesses.
  • Projects focused on the start-up or acquisition of a dairy farming business.

Eligibility criteria of the Bourses à la relève Agri-Marché – Dairy sector program

  • The applicant must be aged between 18 and 49 years as of December 31 of the application year.
  • The applicant must be an owner or co-owner of a business in which at least 30% of voting shares are held by individuals aged 18 to 40 for a maximum of 15 years.
  • The applicant must possess a recognized academic qualification (AEC, DEP, DEC, bachelor’s degree), an equivalent, or be enrolled in a training program in progress. Five years of agricultural work experience may also be acceptable.
  • The project must either improve the technical and financial efficiency of a dairy business or relate to the start-up or acquisition of a dairy enterprise.
