Documents Needed
- Project budget for the initiative seeking funding.
- Up-to-date financial records from the past two years, including either audited financial statements or unaudited financial statements, tax returns, and bank statements.
- Audited financial statements for the past three fiscal years completed by a licensed public accountant, for annual grant funding of $50,000.

Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Black-led, Black-serving, Black-focused organizations committed to advancing justice and equity within Black communities.
- Registered nonprofit or charity in Canada with a focus on justice, legal empowerment, or advocacy for Black communities.
Who is not eligible
- Organizations with outstanding tax debt unless they have a current payment plan with at least two months of on-time payments.
- Organizations that have declared bankruptcy.
Eligible expenses
- Project-related costs included in the approved proposal
- Costs supporting justice initiatives and service expansion
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Purchase of real property, such as land or buildings
- Depreciation of capital assets
- Fines and penalties
- Alcoholic beverages
- Costs outside the submitted proposal or covered by another funding source

- Financial documentation and organizational readiness
