Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Indigenous non-governmental organizations in Canada

  • Applications missing an Early Career Researcher or knowledge user

How to apply

  • Step 1: Registration
    • Log in to ResearchNet and complete the registration task.
    • Identify participants, enter proposal information, and provide the research summary.
    • Select one funding pool and complete the peer review administration information.
  • Step 2: Full application
    • Complete the full application in ResearchNet.
    • Attach the required supporting documents, including the DMP.
    • Confirm all participant forms and required training are complete.
  • Step 3: Submit
    • Review the full application in ResearchNet.
    • Give consent and submit the application electronically before the deadline.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications undergo a relevance review at the full application stage.
  • Peer review is conducted under CIHR review guidelines and DORA principles.
  • Funding is awarded in rank order within each pool, and successful applicants are published on the CIHR website.
  • Reviewers will be asked to comment on the appropriateness of the Data Management Plan, and CIHR may also reach out to applicants to understand their experience developing DMPs.
