Who is eligible?
- Current PGA of Canada members.
- Registered apprentice professionals.
- Former members or apprentice professionals registered within the last 12 years.
- Spouses and dependent children of eligible members or apprentice professionals.
Who is not eligible
- Members removed from the Association for disciplinary measures.
- Spouses and dependent children of members removed for disciplinary measures.
Eligible expenses
- Basic living needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.
- Health care services related to a mental or physical health condition.
- Products and services paid to third parties in support of the applicant’s needs.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Direct cash payments to the applicant.
- Applications from members removed for disciplinary measures.
- Applications from the spouse or dependent child of a member removed for disciplinary measures.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the Benevolent Fund Committee.
- The Committee meets quarterly, and may meet at other times in extraordinary circumstances.
- The Committee’s recommendations go to the Foundation Board for final approval.
- The Foundation Board meets within 7 days of receiving the Committee’s recommendations.
- The PGA of Canada Privacy Officer notifies the applicant of the decision.
Additional information
- Applications are handled confidentially by the Association’s Privacy Officer and the Benevolent Fund Committee.
- Assistance is provided through payments to third parties, not directly to the applicant.
- Support may be available for up to 12 months from the date of approval.
- Additional assistance requires a new application and is not guaranteed.
