Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Licensed trappers
  • Hunters or trappers involved in coyote or wolf claims
  • Landowners affected by nuisance beaver or livestock predation

Who is not eligible

  • People without the required trapping licence for beaver claims
  • Applicants without the required municipal and landowner authorization

Eligible expenses

  • Payments to licensed trappers for each beaver removed.
  • Payments to hunters or trappers for each coyote or wolf removed.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the required form
    • Fill out the Beaver Authorization and Certification Form or the Coyote or Wolf Compensation Claim Form.
  • Step 2: Obtain the required signatures and certifications
    • Secure landowner authorization and other required certifications on the form.
    • For coyote or wolf claims, complete the stockowner, evaluator, and hunter or trapper sections.
  • Step 3: Submit the form
    • Submit the completed form to the City of Owen Sound Clerk’s Division or Licensing Coordinator, as applicable.
  • Step 4: Municipal review and forwarding
    • The City Clerk signs the paperwork and forwards it to Grey County for processing and payment.
