Who is eligible?
- BCTLA members.
- For some awards, current members who are practicing school-level teacher-librarians.
- For some grants, Canadian citizens or landed immigrants who are residents of British Columbia.
Who is not eligible
- Applicants who are not BCTLA members for grants that require membership.
- Applicants who are not Canadian citizens or landed immigrants for the William H. Scott Memorial BCTLA Conference Grant.
- Applicants who are not residents of British Columbia for the grants that require BC residency.
- Applicants who do not hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate for grants that require it.
Eligible expenses
- Approved costs borne by the applicant.
- Registration or tuition fees.
- Travel costs.
- Annual BCTLA Conference registration fee and travel costs.
Eligible geographic areas
- British Columbia
Processing and Agreement
- The recipient(s) of the grant are selected by the Executive Board for some grants.
- The Ken Haycock Professional Development Grant decision is made in June.
- The BCTLA Representative Speaker Grant decision is made in June.
- The William H. Scott Memorial BCTLA Conference Grant decision is made in October.
- The Naomi Onotera Joy of Reading Grant recipients are selected by the BCTLA and the Surrey BCTLA Chapter.

- Most nominations are due between January 1 and March 15 each year.
- Grant nominations are accepted between April 1 and September 15 each year.
