  • Regional organizations outside Greater Vancouver or the capital region

  • Archives organizations
  • Member-funded societies
  • Social service organizations
  • Collectives with fewer than three members

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Budget deficits or contingency funds
  • Capital expenditures above $2,500
  • Activities already funded by other BC Arts Council grant programs
  • Activities funded through certain BC Arts Council third-party delivery partners
  • Non-artistic activities such as fundraising, competitions, and family, religious, anniversary, or community celebrations

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first reviewed for eligibility.
  • Eligible applications are assessed by independent panels.
  • Applications are ranked against others and the highest-ranked are funded.
  • Applicants are notified in writing by email.
  • Final results are binding and final reports are required after funding.

  • Applications are assessed as submitted.
  • Only one application may be submitted per organization or collective.
  • Final reports on previous BC Arts Council grants must be current.
  • Grant recipients must acknowledge BC Arts Council and the Province of British Columbia in promotional materials.
