Solar and battery rebate rules updated
BC Hydro updated the solar and battery rebate requirements on the Rebates for solar panels and battery storage page. The application steps now require a final paid invoice that meets the sample invoice requirements, processing is now stated as 60 days after interconnection approval, and the technical rules now cap systems at 100 kW AC inverter capacity for BC Hydro customers and 50 kW AC inverter capacity for City of New Westminster residential customers. The page also adds new construction guidance, revised remote-microgrid limits, and battery product review instructions, including the need to submit a qualified product list request if a battery is not on the approved list. It also adds a consumer-protection notice for solar sales effective August 1, 2026.
