Overview

Up to approximately $3,000 is available to support local artists to create or perform a work of art. The funding is intended to benefit Nelson and area residents, and in 2025 it supports a Visual Arts project.

Activities funded

  • Creating a work of art by local artists.
  • Performing a work of art by local artists.
  • Visual Arts projects (2025 focus).
Examples of admissible projects:

Mentored screen-print poster series by emerging artist and youth

Youth-led painted panel installation with public showcase and workshops

Eligibility

  • The project must support local artists creating or performing a work of art.
  • Preference is given to projects involving young or emerging artists.
  • The project should be for the benefit of Nelson and area residents.
  • If using a sponsor, the project should be sponsored by a CRA-registered qualified donee with a CRA business number.
