Who is eligible?

• RN or NP registrants of the NL College of Nurses
• Students enrolled in BN, MN, or PhD programs
• People employed in nursing in NL
• Applicants participating in a continuing education event relevant to their nursing practice
• Members of the NL Registered Nurses' Education & Research Trust

Who is not eligible

• Prior recipients of the Bay St. George Chapter Scholarship
• Applicants who submit late applications
• Non-qualifying academic applicants when a suitable CE applicant is available

• Other eligible program or event costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Applications submitted after the deadline
• Non-credit continuing education applications when an academic scholarship applicant is suitable
• Applications from prior Bay St. George Chapter Scholarship recipients

Eligible geographic areas

• Bay St. George area
• South Western area of the province starting at Long Point in the District of Port Au Port, east to Gallants and Bay St. George Districts

• Relevance of the continuing education to nursing practice
• Status as a suitable applicant for the available scholarship
• For academic applications, required supporting documents must be complete

  • Send the application before the applicable deadline.
  • Late applications are not considered.

• If there are not enough Spring applications, decisions may be deferred to the Fall competition.
• Applicants are notified of the result by email.
• Successful applicants must provide supporting documentation before funds are released.

• Only one scholarship is awarded each year.

• Funding may be adjusted based on expense confirmation.
