AWS Calgary Community Fund supports individuals, existing local groups and nonprofit organizations in Calgary and surrounding areas with C$175,000 to improve community wellbeing. Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Individuals once they form a team

Who is not eligible

  • Community groups outside of Calgary
  • Family and close relatives of ChangeX employees or of AWS

Eligible expenses

  • Direct costs relating to the set-up or maintenance of the new or existing project
  • Space rental, insurance fees, seeds and planting materials, tools and training fees

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Criminal acts of violence, terrorism, hate crimes, the destruction of any state, or discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, religion, military and veteran status, disability, sex, age, gender identity or sexual orientation
  • Support of any entity that engages in these activities
  • Costs of work that has already been carried out
  • Anything that is not related to the set-up and maintenance of the new community project
  • Promotion of religious causes, non-charitable activities, sponsorship or fundraising events, and payment to group members for their work on the project

How to apply

  • Select an idea listed below or submit your existing project and register to get your project page
  • Use your project page to complete the 30 Day Challenge
  • Submit a photo and your action plan
  • Let us know what impact you are having in your community

Processing and Agreement

  • In order to receive the funding, you must have a bank account and enter your bank details on the ChangeX website
  • ChangeX will review your application to make sure all elements of the Challenge have been completed successfully
  • ChangeX will reach out for any additional steps or information required
  • The final impact survey will be reviewed to ensure the project is active and the second instalment of funding is necessary
  • ChangeX will collect and review receipts before releasing the second installment of funding

  • All projects should be managed in an inclusive and welcoming manner
  • Any events organised as part of your project should comply with any relevant public health guidance
