Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Individuals affiliated with publicly funded post-secondary institutions in the Atlantic region.
  • Departments, groups, and institutions in Atlantic Canada.
  • Educators, teaching and learning centres, libraries, and OER working groups.

Eligible expenses

  • Student research assistants and specialized external expertise not available at the institution.
  • Tools needed to develop ancillary materials.
  • Resources required to host sprint events.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Administrative overhead.
  • Conference fees and conference travel.
  • Fees paid to commercial publishers for open access publication.
  • Salaries for staff already employed by the post-secondary institution, except in approved release-time or fixed-period situations.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the CAAL-CBPA OER Committee using a single-blind process.
  • The AtlanticOER Lead verifies eligibility and required documentation.
  • Successful applicants are notified in mid-March.
  • Funding is then paid in April as a full lump sum.
