- People already covered by WSIB for the same device or supply.
- Group A veterans already covered by Veterans Affairs Canada for the same item.
- Acute or chronic care hospital patients, for some programs.
- Long-term care home residents, for some programs.
Eligible expenses
- Purchase of eligible assistive equipment and supplies.
- Replacement of eligible devices when approved.
- Some related delivery or setup costs where covered by the program.

- Repairs to equipment, in most cases.
- Lost devices or supplies.
- Items not covered by the program lists, such as regular telephones, GPS systems, and home renovations.
- Purchases made before required steps are completed may not be covered.
