Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Indigenous-led organizations.
  • Organizations with a project suited to Indigenous media arts.

Eligible expenses

  • Creative services for the project, subsidized up to $5,000 per participant.
  • Additional work beyond the subsidy amount, if covered by the host organization.
  • Top-up or matching support for recurring project costs such as equipment rentals, crew and staff wages, and location permits.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare your project request
    • Complete the project submission form with your proposed creative needs.
    • If submitting multiple projects, indicate their order of priority.
  • Step 2: Submit your project request
    • Send the project submission form by the stated deadline.
    • Contact the Program Manager if you need an extension.
  • Step 3: Review and matching process
    • ArtWorksTO turns host requests into an RFP master document.
    • Participants submit bids based on their skills, vision, and interests.
    • Bids are assessed and recommended bids are shared with hosts.
  • Step 4: Final approval and contract update
    • Review the recommended bid and approve the match.
    • Negotiate and amend the contract if project details change.

Processing and Agreement

  • Project submissions are reviewed for fit with the program and the participant’s skills and interests.
  • Participants bid on host projects through an RFP process.
  • Bids are assessed by ArtWorksTO staff, alumni, and advisors.
  • Hosts receive recommended bids for final review and approval.
  • Contract changes must be negotiated, approved by the Program Manager, and formally amended.

Additional information

  • Participants receive mentorship and project support from ArtWorksTO.
  • Projects include up to three revisions in total.
  • Project hosts may apply for up to three Indigenous artists.
  • Changes to the original project must be approved and the contract amended.
