The Medium Arts Project Grant now includes a new rule limiting applicants to one ITI arts funding program at a time, with an exception for the Artist Travel & Touring Fund, and requires funded projects to be completed and reported before reapplying. - Samples of work, using one of the following formats: 1-2 sound/video clips of 5 minutes or less, 1-2 writing samples of 5 pages or less, or up to 10 photographs

- Applicants receiving funding from the Large Arts Project Fund or Arts Operating Fund in the same fiscal year for the same purpose
- Applicants applying for more than one ITI arts funding program at the same time, except the Artist Travel & Touring Fund
Eligible expenses
- Artist fees for the applicant and/or collaborators, and fees related to contracting costs
- Raw materials and supplies, small tools and equipment, shipping, NWT booking agent fees, rental fees for equipment, and studio costs
- Up to 10% of a project budget for administration
- Professional instruction or courses, residencies, workshops, mentorship, and travel for artistic development
- Travel for artistic development may include flight, accommodation, ground transportation and baggage fees/shipping only
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Major tools and equipment that are not used up by the project
- Projects meant for competitions like awards or contests
- Third party online booking fees outside of NWT and inventory previously purchased with Government programming or before the start of the project
- General non-artistic activities at receptions, carnivals, jamborees, festivals or annual meetings; living or operating expenses such as rent or mortgage, wages, food and utilities; GST, HST or PST on eligible expenses

How to apply
- Once your project is planned, fill out the Medium Arts Project Grant application form
- Submit your completed application and supporting documents online using Filedrop, by email, by mail, by fax, or in person by appointment
- For in person submissions, appointments in Yellowknife can be made by contacting ArtsFunding@gov.nt.ca or 867-767-9347 Ext. 71474; outside Yellowknife, contact your regional ITI Office
Processing and Agreement
- Applicants are notified of results within 60 days of the deadline
- If declined, feedback is provided and applicants are asked to apply again in the next intake
- Applications must be approved before beginning the activity, and costs incurred before approval will not be covered
- Financial reporting is required within 60 days of completing the project, including actual costs, revenues and the reporting survey

- Preference is given to projects that use NWT resources and services.
- Funding recipients must credit the GNWT in publicity materials.
- A grant agreement must be signed before payment is issued.
- Applicants may not apply for more than one ITI arts funding program at the same time, except the Artist Travel & Touring Fund.
