Overview
The program provides up to $20,000 to support a 6–12 month arts leadership residency. Funding is used exclusively to pay the Resident’s salary while they complete the placement with a Host arts organization.
Activities funded
- Undertaking an extended residency with a Host arts organization to build leadership experience (6 months full-time or 12 months part-time).
Examples of admissible projects:

Nine-month part-time residency developing executive leadership and governance skills

Six-month full-time residency focused on artistic direction and partnerships
Documents Needed
Eligibility
- The residency must be developed jointly by a Resident and a Host arts organization.
- The Host Organization must submit the application to the Rozsa Foundation.
- The Resident must be a mid-career arts professional who is Indigenous, Black, or a Person of Colour and is aspiring to an arts leadership role.
- The residency must be an extended placement lasting 6 months (full-time) to 12 months (part-time).

- Organizations that are not registered charities in Canada (when serving as the Host Organization outside Calgary/Treaty 7).

Selection criteria
How to apply
- Step 1: Pre-application conversation
- Book a conversation at least four weeks before the deadline you plan to apply for.
- Step 2: Co-develop residency plan
- Host Organization and Resident develop the residency design together (duration, full-time/part-time, and remote/in-person/hybrid approach).
- Step 3: Submit application
- The Host Organization submits the application to the Rozsa Foundation.
Processing and Agreement
- The funder strives to notify applicants of results within six weeks of the application deadline.

- Applicants are encouraged to book a conversation at least four weeks before the planned deadline.
- Funding decisions are typically communicated within six weeks after the application deadline.
