  • Event-related costs covered by the grant budget.
  • Cash and in-kind contributions as matching support.

  • Endowment funds and capital costs.
  • Debt retirement or retroactive funding.
  • Fundraising projects or programs.
  • Competitions, award ceremonies, private events, and closed events.
  • Individuals, businesses, commercial enterprises, political parties, political events, schools, and post-secondary institutions are not supported.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first reviewed by staff for eligibility and completeness.
  • Some applications may be forwarded for additional staff review if they affect public space.
  • The Grants Review Committee evaluates eligible applications and makes recommendations.
  • Approved applicants receive a Notice of Award and must sign a Grant Acceptance Form before payment.
  • Unsuccessful applicants are also notified, and reporting is required after funding.
