Eligible expenses

  • Airfare at the lowest available rate
  • Standard accommodation, including private accommodation, hotels, motels, or Airbnb
  • Driving costs up to the cost of the lowest airfare, plus hotel costs while in transit
  • Project-related fees, excess baggage, shipping, and ground transportation

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Per diems, incidentals, salaries, and honoraria
  • Unapproved expenses
  • GST, HST, or PST on eligible expenses
  • Funding for Artist to Market Program cohorts
  • Costs incurred before the application is submitted
  • Artistic development activities such as residencies, workshops, and mentorship

Processing and Agreement

  • Complete applications are reviewed and applicants are notified in writing within 15 business days.
  • Approved applicants receive a contribution agreement with the funding terms, payment schedule, and reporting requirements.
  • The signed agreement must be returned within 30 days.
  • Payment is issued after the signed agreement is received and the applicant has a GNWT account in good standing.

Additional information

  • Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual budget is exhausted.
  • Applicants receive a written decision within 15 business days after a complete application is reviewed.
  • Approved applicants must sign a contribution agreement before payment.
  • Funding recipients must credit the Government of the Northwest Territories in publicity related to the funded activity.
