How to apply

  • Step 1: Request Application Form
    • Email chfunds@gov.nu.ca to request the specific Archaeology and Palaeontology Research Support application form.
  • Step 2: Complete Funding Proposal
    • Fill out the application form provided by the department.
    • Outline the research activity for which funds are being requested.
    • Include a timeline for project completion.
    • Attach a letter of support from your institution.
  • Step 3: Submit Application

  • A separate application form is required for this grant, distinct from other Culture & Heritage Initiatives.
  • Individuals may only receive one award per grant cycle, with a maximum of three awards under the program.
  • The Working Group meets once per year to review proposals, but expedited review by the Director of Heritage is possible when timelines require it.
  • Grants are awarded once per fiscal year, with the reporting period running from April 1 to March 31.
