Additional information

  • The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) is considered taxable income; recipients will receive a T4A slip (or Relevé 1 for Quebec residents) for tax reporting.
  • Receiving the AIG does not affect Employment Insurance (EI) benefits and does not need to be reported as earnings for EI purposes.
  • If you owe family support payments, grant funds may be redirected to a third party under the Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Act (FOAEAA).
  • After March 31, 2025, only supporting documents for prior accepted applications will be processed, with a final deadline of March 31, 2026, for submission.
