Application Assistance

• Name and email of the service provider for account creation assistance.
• Name of the grant or prize.
• Brief description of the project or activities.
• Selected category of support.
• Files or supporting documents, if applicable.

Who is eligible?

• Individuals.
• Lead applicants for groups.
• Applicants who are Deaf, hard of hearing, disabled, or living with mental illness.
• First Nations, Inuit, or Métis applicants facing language, geographic, or cultural barriers.

Who is not eligible

• Applicants who do not self-identify within the eligible groups.
• Service providers with a leadership or artistic role in the project.
• Requests submitted after the work has already started.

Eligible expenses

• Costs for account creation support.
• Costs for application, nomination, acceptance, and report preparation support.
• Translation, interpretation, editing, writing, and transcription services linked to the request.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Work started before approval of the request.
• Services outside the approved support category.
• Costs above the stated maximum amounts.

• The Canada Council may request additional information before deciding.
• The request is reviewed to verify eligibility within 3 to 5 business days.
• If approved, a case number is issued and the service provider may begin work.
• Payment is made after the required submission is completed and the invoice is received.

• Assistance is provided through the Canada Council for the Arts portal or by email.
• Requests may be updated with additional information before eligibility is determined.
• If approved, the assistance is saved to the applicant’s account for future use.
