The Alizés Awards recognize Canadian agri-food and food processing companies for excellence in export performance and innovative export strategies (maximum funding amount not specified). Eligible activities include applying to one or two award categories highlighting international export success, interprovincial market development, and ESG-integrated export initiatives.

Activities funded

  • International export growth initiatives for Canadian agri-food products (submission for the SME or Large Company export award categories).
  • Canadian market expansion projects outside the company’s home province, supported by an exemplary product marketing strategy (submission for the Canadian Market award category).
  • Implementation of innovative export strategies that integrate ESG principles into operations (submission for the Innovative Export Strategy award category).

Eligibility

  • Be a Canadian food processing or agricultural company.
  • Have main headquarters in Canada.
  • Market products that are primarily made in Canada.
  • Have been in business for at least 3 years.
  • Have annual revenues of at least CAD $1 million.

  • Canadian agricultural companies

Who is not eligible

  • Service companies (i.e., businesses whose primary activity is providing services rather than producing food or agricultural products).
  • Distribution companies.
  • Trading houses (companies primarily engaged in buying/selling products rather than producing them).

Eligible geographic areas

  • Canada (company headquarters must be in Canada).

Selection criteria

  • Notable success in international export in recent years (for the “SME – Fonds de solidarité FTQ” and “Large Company – FCC” categories).
  • Exemplary product marketing strategy outside the company’s home province (for the “Canadian Market Award – National Bank” category).
  • Implementation of innovative export strategies while integrating ESG principles into operations (for the “Innovative Export Strategy – Inno-centre” category).

Check general eligibility

  • Confirm your company is a Canadian food processing or agricultural business
  • Ensure your head office is in Canada and products are primarily made in Canada
  • Verify you have been in business for at least 3 years and have annual revenues of CAD $1M+
  • Confirm your company is not a service, distribution, or trading company

  • Select up to two award categories to apply for
  • Review category criteria (SME, Large Company, Canadian Market)
  • Note that eligible applicants are automatically eligible for the Innovative Export Strategy award

  • Finalists receive recognition from agri-food experts in front of buyers and key industry decision-makers at the Alizés Awards Evening.
  • The Alizés Awards Evening takes place in conjunction with SIAL Canada; winners are announced on April 29, 2026, at Belvédère Hall (Old Port of Montreal).
  • Companies may compete in up to two of the four award categories.
  • A webinar is offered to guide applicants and share best practices for submitting a strong application.
