Who is eligible?

  • Residents of the Northwest Territories of at least the last 5 consecutive years.
  • Individuals pursuing post-secondary studies in a music program.

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals who are merely interested in the field of study.
  • Individuals whose music studies are outside their primary program of study.

How to apply

  • Apply only through the online application portal.
  • Create a profile on the scholarship application portal.
  • Complete the eligibility quiz.
  • Submit an application for the student award.

Processing and Agreement

  • Each application is reviewed by the Student Award Review Committee.
  • Yellowknife Community Foundation staff and Student Awards Review Committee members conduct due diligence checks on all applications and undertake a review process.
  • Applications are reviewed only after the deadline.
  • Applicants may be contacted with questions about their application.
  • Applicants are notified in mid to late July, and every applicant receives notification regardless of funding decision.
