AREF funding updates
On the Get Funding page, Investment Grants now show a maximum of $100,000 instead of $25,000, and the Investment Grants deadline moved from August 25, 2026 to August 18, 2026. The funding priorities for both Investment Grants and Development Grants now include Land & Water, and the Sponsorships page now uses the term interest-holders and adds a user guide for navigating the GoApply portal.

How to apply
- Click the Opportunities tab, then the View tab in the GoApply portal.
- Log in or create a profile through the GoApply portal.
- Submit a sponsorship application online.
Processing and Agreement
- After submission, applications are reviewed and applicants receive an email advising them of the funding decision.
- The application status can be viewed on the Submitted page of the portal.
- Once a funding request is approved, the system generates phases depending on the funding type.
- For Sponsorships, the Funding Agreement / Payment Details Confirmation phase collects payment information so funds can be issued.
- Sponsorships do not require final reporting.

- Expressions of Interest for Sponsorships are accepted throughout the year.
- A GoApply Grant Portal User Guide is available to help applicants navigate the portal.
- Requests for Sponsorships are approved by the Executive Director.
- Decisions cannot be appealed.
