Alberta Real Estate Foundation Investment Grants

Who is eligible?

• Organizations with projects related to Alberta’s real estate industry.
• Applicants proposing education, research, or law reform initiatives.
• Groups working on projects that improve the real estate industry or benefit Albertans.

Who is not eligible

• Individuals.
• Political or religious activities.
• For-profit and commercial ventures.
• Other granting agencies seeking funds for redistribution.
• Activities already substantially completed.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Individuals.
• Political or religious activities.
• For-profit and commercial ventures.
• Retroactive funding for substantially completed activities.
• Capital funding such as renovations, retrofits, or builds.

Eligible geographic areas

• Alberta

• Expression of Interest is reviewed first to assess fit with funding priorities.
• If the project is a strong fit, the applicant is invited to submit a full application.
• The application is reviewed by staff and through blind peer review by Governors.
• The Board of Governors makes the final decision.
• Grantseekers may be asked to answer questions during the review process.
• Decision time is about 8 weeks after application submission.

• Applications start with an Expression of Interest submitted through the GoApply portal.
• An invitation is required before completing a full application.
• Grant reporting is managed through the applicant’s GoApply account.
• Board decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
