Who is eligible?
- For-profit businesses and non-profit organizations.
- Industry associations or employer organizations, employee organizations, and local planning groups, economic development organizations, or community action groups.
- Organizations with charitable status.
- Indigenous group, organization, or community (on or off reserve).
- Municipalities.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Funding to establish a long-term dependency on the Government of Alberta, or to support ongoing or previously funded programs and services.
- Activities that benefit only one employer, only benefit the Government of Alberta, or have the Government of Alberta or any other government as the primary recipient of goods and services.
- Activities that duplicate or replace programs or services already provided by the Government of Alberta, duplicate information or education products already available in the community, or market or direct clients to provincial or federal programs.
- Activities related to union-management collective bargaining issues, infrastructure or day-to-day operational costs, or research related to new products or product development.
- Community development or community capacity building activities that do not address an identified labour market need, direct service delivery to individual clients, support for an educational institution in determining its training needs or developing curriculum, and employee-training costs.
How to apply
- Submit written proposals to Labour and Immigration.
Processing and Agreement
- Approved applicants must agree to and sign the grant agreement.
- The grant agreement is legally binding and must be signed by an authorized signing official.
- Project success is measured using quantitative and qualitative results, with short-term and long-term measures identified and discussed with partners before project commencement.
- Labour and Immigration may outline additional project reporting and oversight when needed.
- Public-facing advertisements must acknowledge Government of Canada and Government of Alberta funding using the specified wording and watermarks.
