Overview

The Agency Capacity Building Grant provides up to $30,000 to non-profit societies, municipalities, and schools offering preventive social services within the FCSS region. It aims to strengthen organizational capacity through professional development, strategic planning, and research activities, fostering more effective social service delivery.

Activities funded

  • Implementing staff training or professional development programs.
  • Developing or updating strategic plans for organizational growth.
  • Conducting research to improve service delivery or organizational effectiveness.

Non-profit societies, municipalities, and schools providing preventive social services within the FCSS region.

  • Expenses not aligned with approved project activities or objectives.
  • Cost overruns or expenses exceeding the grant amount.

Red Deer & District region including Village of Delburne, Village of Elnora, Town of Bowden, Town of Penhold, Red Deer County, City of Red Deer.

Selection criteria

  • Relevance of the activities to capacity building and organizational development.
  • Potential impact on organizational effectiveness.
  • Clarity and feasibility of the project plan.
  • Organizational capacity to carry out the proposed activities.
  • Alignment with the goals of the FCSS regional social services.

How to apply

Prepare your application including detailed description of activities, budget, and organizational information.Send your application by email to fcss@redeer.ca or by fax to (403) 342-8222.Ensure your application is submitted at least four weeks before the funding need date.Await confirmation or notification of outcome from the Social Planning Department.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed and assessed for eligibility and alignment with program goals.
  • Applicants are notified of decisions, with approval contingent upon signing a funding agreement.
  • Once approved, funds are disbursed according to the terms outlined, often with reporting requirements to ensure proper use of funds.

Additional information

Applicants are encouraged to submit applications at least four weeks before the required funding date. Funding is awarded on a first come, first served basis until the annual budget is exhausted.
