County Launches 2024 Age-Friendly Seniors Housing Grant Program

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Homeowners of principal residences.
  • Landlords of principal residences.
  • Developers, in the current program materials.

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants for projects outside the 16 municipalities of Simcoe County.
  • Applicants for projects in Barrie or Orillia.
  • Applicants who received this grant in the past three years.

Eligible expenses

  • Accessible, adaptable, and inclusive housing design modifications.
  • Support services for housing with enhanced accessibility.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Modifications started or completed before approval.
  • Projects without local municipal building approval, where required.
  • Cosmetic renovations and repairs.
  • Land purchase, landscaping, routine maintenance, and medical equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers.
