Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Private for-profit organizations, charitable organizations, non-profit organizations, and Indigenous-led housing providers.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Operation and service costs associated with highly supportive housing units.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis once they meet the minimum criteria.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applicants must enter into a loan agreement registered on title for the units to remain affordable for a minimum period of 25 years.
  • In the event of a default, the funding converts into a loan and becomes fully payable to the City on demand, along with accrued interest up to the default date.

  • Tenants will be referred from, but not mandated, from the City’s Housing Stability Services list.
