Eligibility
- The company must operate in the food processing sector (e.g., dairy, meat, fruits and vegetables, bakery, confectionary, beverages, animal food, or prepared foods).
- The company must be willing to hire or upskill employees as operator trainees for food processing equipment.
- The company must participate in the alternating work-study program and collaborate with the training provider.

How to apply

Complete program registration
- Register the candidate or company for the program through the designated platform

Participate in orientation and interviews
- Attend the mandatory information session on August 27, 2025
- Participate in the scheduled speed interviews with companies on September 4 and 5, 2025
- Gather and submit all required documentation if requested

Obtain sector employment to confirm admission
- Secure employment with a participating food processing company
- If not selected during interviews, independently seek an employer in the relevant sector
- Employment confirmation is required to finalize admission

Start the paid work-study program
- Begin the paid work-study training program as scheduled
- Follow the class and in-company training sessions from September to December as outlined
- Track eligibility for the wage subsidy of up to $25 per hour during practical work
Additional information
- Mandatory information session for students is scheduled for August 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
- Short-list interviews for student-employer pairing will be held on September 4 and 5, 2025.
- The training program will take place from September 22 to December 4, 2025, at École Polymécanique de Laval.
- Admission is conditional upon the student's employment by a participating food processing company.
