Who is eligible?

  • Homeowners in the District of Nipissing
  • Applicants who are at least 18 years old and Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants
  • Applicants whose annual gross household income is $104,100 or less for single/lone households or $126,800 or less for family households
  • Applicants whose total assets, including savings and investments, do not exceed $50,000.00

Who is not eligible

  • Homeowners outside the District of Nipissing
  • Applicants whose property does not allow an additional dwelling unit under municipal by-laws

How to apply

    • Contact the Housing Program Administrator.
    • Request to be added to the program waitlist.
  • Step 2: Receive application
    • Wait until funding is available and your name reaches the top of the list.
    • Receive the application package from the program.
  • Step 3: Submit application package
    • Complete the application forms.
    • Provide the required supporting documents.
    • Submit the package to the program team.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applicants must first join the waitlist.
  • When funding is available, an application is sent to the next applicant on the list.
  • A funding agreement must be signed before construction begins.
  • The unit must remain affordable during the loan forgiveness period.
