Access Communications Children’s Fund

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Registered non-profit organizations.
  • Charitable organizations.
  • Schools.

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals or initiatives for youth over the age of 18.
  • Organizations that received funding the previous year.
  • Out-of-province organizations when donation cheques must be made payable to a national or out-of-province office.
  • Religious organizations, unless supporting broadly-based outreach community initiatives; organizations offering services that are exclusive in nature.
  • Political organizations, daycares, pre-schools or pre-kindergartens, and athletic teams, tournaments or events.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Research, scholarships, loans, and endowments.
  • Fundraisers, festivals, auctions, travel costs, speaker costs, workshops, or conventions.
  • Overhead costs, including facility operational costs, salaries, honorariums, utilities, building maintenance, other organization operating expenses, advertising, and printing costs.

Eligible geographic areas

  • Saskatchewan communities served by Access Communications Co-operative, including the rural wireless internet coverage area.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are evaluated with particular emphasis on how the proposed project will specifically benefit at-risk, in-need, or the most vulnerable children and youth.

How to apply

  • Review the funding criteria before starting the application.
  • Complete the online application form.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the Fund’s Board of Directors at least four times annually.
  • It may take up to 8-10 weeks following a submission deadline for the approval process to be completed.
  • Recipients must submit a follow-up report including spending and outcomes.
  • Legacy Projects require a full review by the Board of the Children’s Fund.
