Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Registered non-profit organizations.
  • Local grassroots groups with a fiscal agent that meets the criteria.
  • Applicants currently receiving other funding from the City of Edmonton, if they are in good standing and have all final reports submitted and reporting requirements fulfilled.

Who is not eligible

  • Municipal departments or other governmental organizations.
  • For-profit organizations or enterprises.
  • Applicants currently receiving other funding from the City of Edmonton who are not in good standing or who have outstanding or overdue final reports.

Eligible expenses

  • Project-specific staffing costs.
  • Honorariums, materials, printing, communications, training, travel within Edmonton, and evaluation.
  • Short-term space rental for project activities.
  • Food for program delivery, up to 25% of the proposed budget.
  • Administrative costs and fees, up to 15% of total project costs.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Application preparation and fundraising costs.
  • Endowments, charitable donations, bursaries, gifts, and donor recognition.
  • Expenses incurred before the application was received.
  • Capital upgrades, renovations, construction, debt reduction, loans, and interest.
  • Direct government lobbying or partisan political activities.
