Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Non-profit and other tax-exempt community-based organizations.
  • Registered businesses, including eligible for-profit organizations.
  • Registered charities and certain health and wellness organizations.

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations proposing programs outside Canada.
  • Projects that are profit-making from the grant funds.
  • Applications for fundraising events or research projects.

Eligible expenses

  • Direct program labour, including facilitators, speakers, and direct care navigation support.
  • Marketing, printing, promotion, food for education sessions, and virtual platform subscriptions.
  • Room rental in rural or underserved locations and limited participant supplies or transportation.
  • Train-the-trainer materials, sessions, technology, and support.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Organization salary costs, except direct instructional or facilitation time.
  • Capital expenses, indirect costs, exercise equipment, and staff travel.
  • Research projects, fundraising events, and individual financial assistance.
  • Programs outside Canada, books or movie productions, memberships, accreditations, and licensing or training programs.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Review application materials
    • Read the application form and accompanying guidelines.

  • Step 2: Complete the application

  • Step 3: Submit online
    • Submit the application through the Parkinson Canada Application platform only.

Processing and Agreement

  • Eligible applications are then reviewed by a nationwide peer review committee.
  • Applicants receive confirmation of receipt after submission.
  • Funding decisions are communicated by the end of August 2026.
