Student Award Programs

The centre administers five award competitions for Indigenous students:
  • Harold F. and Anne Bedner Award in Health Sciences - For female Indigenous students in health sciences programs
  • Cindy Jordan-Orlaw Memorial Award - For Indigenous students with young families
  • Vancouver Island Health Authority Award - For students in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, speech language pathology, or pharmacy
  • Vancouver Foundation First Nations Scholarship - $10,000 scholarship for First Nations students in professional health or human services programs
  • Award in Medicine for Indigenous Students - For Indigenous students in health-related programs

Eligibility and Application Process

Applicants must be First Nations (Status or Non-Status), Inuit, or Métis, currently enrolled full-time (24 credits) at UBC Vancouver in an undergraduate or graduate program. Awards range from $750 to $10,000 and are applied through student services towards tuition.
