Grant and Funding Programs Offered by The Prosser Charitable Foundation

The Prosser Charitable Foundation serves as a vital intermediary between private philanthropy and community needs in Calgary, Alberta. As a private foundation established in 2002, it channels resources toward educational opportunities and poverty relief for children and youth.

The foundation's flagship program is the Parent's Choice Bursary, which covers up to 50% of tuition costs to a maximum of $5,000 per student per year. This bursary supports children from low-income families to attend accredited private and independent schools in Calgary and surrounding area. The foundation also provides ongoing support, maintaining awards throughout students' school careers (to grade 12).

Bursary applicants are prioritized as follows: (1) Current bursary recipients, (2) New students enrolling for the first time at participating schools, and (3) All other applicants. Income eligibility is determined based on household size, with published guidelines for the 2025/26 cycle ranging from $42,000 for 2-person households to $88,000 for 7+ person households.

The foundation maintains a public list of over 35 supported charitable organizations and publishes annual application deadlines (March 27, 2026 for 2026/27). All applications must be submitted through qualifying independent schools, not directly to the foundation.
