Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Edge School Foundation

Edge School Foundation is the charitable fundraising arm of Edge School for student‑athletes in Calgary, Alberta. Established as the school’s dedicated fundraising body, the foundation builds relationships with alumni, families, corporations and community partners to secure gifts that strengthen academic and athletic programs, enhance facilities and expand access to education. Donations are directed to key priorities such as financial aid, endowment funds, equipment and facilities, and capital campaigns.

A central mission of the Edge School Foundation is to reduce financial barriers for qualified student‑athletes. The school’s Financial Aid Program provides needs‑based assistance with tuition fees, funded by donations and fundraising events run by the foundation. Families apply annually through a third‑party assessment service, and a Financial Aid Committee determines awards, which typically range from approximately $2,000 to $11,000 per year for eligible students. In addition, the foundation supports Opportunity and Achievement Awards and other student recognitions that help make an Edge education attainable.

The foundation encourages giving through individual donations, workplace giving programs, corporate matching gifts, gifts of publicly traded securities, and special fundraising events such as the Edge Charity Golf Classic and the Move Mountains annual giving day. It also offers sponsorship opportunities on the busy Edge School campus, enabling companies to gain visibility while contributing to the maintenance and improvement of high‑performance sports and learning facilities.

As a registered Canadian charity, Edge School Foundation issues tax receipts for eligible donations and channels funds to support the broader mission of “building a culture of personal excellence in academics, athletics and character.” The foundation is governed by its own Board of Directors, which focuses on cultivating friends and funds in support of programs, financial aid, endowment growth and major capital projects. Through this work, the foundation helps student‑athletes access life‑changing educational and athletic opportunities and contributes to the long‑term sustainability of Edge School.
