Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Boys and Girls Club of London Foundation

The Boys and Girls Club of London Foundation is a separately incorporated, registered charitable foundation that exists to secure and steward financial resources for BGC London. Working in partnership with individual donors, corporate partners, other foundations, and estates, it channels philanthropy into operating and capital support for programs serving children, youth, families, and older adults in London, Ontario.

The Foundation sets reasonable fundraising goals and accountability standards so that gifts provide sustainable, long-term funding. It helps ensure that any new projects it supports align with BGC London’s strategic plan and contribute to the organization’s long‑term viability. Over time, it has built significant endowment, restricted, and investment funds to underpin the Club’s ongoing operations.

Each year, the Foundation provides an operating grant to BGC London, a key reason the Club can continue to offer low‑cost or free, high‑quality programs. Foundation resources are invested across major program areas, including children’s programs, educational supports, seniors’ services, nutrition initiatives, and, when needed, deficit reduction grants to stabilize the Club’s finances. In addition, capital funding from the Foundation supports building upgrades, accessibility improvements, equipment, and facility redevelopment.

The Foundation also contributes to scholarships and bursaries administered with postsecondary partners such as King’s University College and Fanshawe College, helping young people from the Club community pursue further education. Annual reports and audited financial statements detail revenues, expenses, grants to the Club, and investments in specific program categories.

The Boys and Girls Club of London Foundation is governed by its own Board of Directors, distinct from the BGC London board but with a crossover member to maintain close communication. The Foundation follows Canadian accounting standards for not‑for‑profit organizations and publishes annual reports that summarize financial performance and program investments, reinforcing transparency for donors and stakeholders.

By combining prudent investment management with active fundraising, the Foundation plays a central role in sustaining BGC London’s contributions to community wellbeing and in expanding opportunities for children, youth, and older adults across the London area.
