GAINS benefit rates updated for 2026
Ontario updated the GAINS payments for seniors page with new 2026 benefit-year details. The maximum monthly payment increased from $90 to $92, the benefit year now runs from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, and the private-income thresholds increased to $4,416 for single seniors and $8,832 for senior couples. The page also keeps the same application guidance, including the annual tax-filing requirement and the option to complete a GIS application if needed. A contact-us source for a GAINS rates page was also simplified to a generic ontario.ca contact page title, without any change to the listed phone numbers or support details.
