Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Owners of municipal heritage-designated properties
  • Owners of heritage properties in the City of Owen Sound
  • Property owners in Lake of Bays with municipal heritage designation

Who is not eligible

  • Properties already receiving other tax relief programs
  • Properties with unresolved municipal fines, arrears, or work orders
  • Properties not in compliance with the required agreement

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Properties receiving other tax relief programs, including provincial programs and conservation easements
  • Refunds for applications that do not meet the minimum eligible amount of $250 in Owen Sound

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the application form
    • Fill out the prescribed form in full.
    • Submit the required supporting documents.
  • Step 2: Submit the annual application
    • Apply each year within the program intake period.
    • Include all required information and attachments.
  • Step 3: Review and approval
    • Staff review the application.
    • The advisory committee and Council consider the file.
  • Step 4: Receive the refund
    • Approved applicants receive the refund by cheque.
