Overview
The Heritage Preservation Partnership Program provides matching grants to preserve and interpret Alberta's heritage. Historic Resource Conservation Grants fund conservation work on Provincial Historic Resources (up to $100,000), Municipal Historic Resources and Indigenous Historic Places (up to $50,000 each). Processing and Agreement
- Applications reviewed May to June for funding decisions
- Evaluated based on project scope, conservation priorities, applicant capacity and funding history
- Approved applicants receive funding agreement with terms and conditions
- Interim payment of 50% released upon project initiation
- Final payment upon submission of invoices, receipts and project report
- Work inspected by Heritage Conservation Adviser for compliance
Additional information
- Consultation with a Heritage Conservation Adviser is required before applying.
- Work must comply with the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.
- Grant recipients must publicly acknowledge Alberta government's financial support.
- Projects must be completed and all reporting done by February 28 of the year following approval.
